Little Moments

It was one of those little “movie moments” that I love so much about living in the city. I’m in Murray’s, picking up a sandwich for dinner and the guy making it is asking over the counter, “Hey Oklahoma, what else you want on your bagel?” Ray Charles is singing a nice and slow soundtrack as the rain starts to fall outside, and you begin to hear that distinctive sound of tires rolling across wet pavement. The older woman behind me is subtly smelling like very expensive Chanel, and the two kids drinking coffee and reading their books in the windows reminds me of the girl in the “Chop Suey” painting by Hopper.

It’s the little things and the little moments that make the city worth it all.
